Modern fish farming is impossible without an effective water purification system. The biological filter 5 m³ is a powerful solution for aquariums and ponds, providing high quality biofiltration without mechanical cleaning. It has two sections that work exclusively for biofiltration: one with sinking bio-loading and one with floating bio-loading. This approach guarantees optimal decomposition of ammonia, nitrites and other hydrobiont products.
Advantages of the CrawTec Biofilter - 5 m³
- Efficient two-chamber system. In one section of the filter there is a floating bio-load of 1300 litres and in the second section there is a sinking bio-load of 1000 litres. This allows a high degree of water purification to be maintained.
- Thoughtful design. The filter is made of 10 mm thick food-grade polypropylene for durability, resistance to water and biological processes.
- Increased water flow. With 5 inlet and 5 outlet pipes (110 mm diameter), the filter is capable of handling large volumes of water, making it ideal for industrial RCDs.
- Efficient aeration. Built-in 4 disc atomisers with a diameter of 340 mm saturate the water with oxygen, improving biodegradation performance. An aerator is included to provide air to the biochar.
How does the biofilter work?
- Water enters the first section with a sinking bio-load, where the decomposition of organics starts.
- The water then moves to the second chamber with floating bio-load, which provides additional purification.
- Aeration activates microorganisms that break down harmful compounds.
- The purified water exits through the outlet spigots and returns to the system.
